Italian alt.country heroes SATELLITE INN have announced the release of a new digital single as a taster for their forthcoming new album. The single will be the band’s first release for The Delines’ label El Cortez Records.
Originally formed in the late 90s, when they toured the US with the backing of North Carolina label MoodFood, releasing the cult debut Cold Morning Songs, Satellite Inn reformed a couple of years ago releasing a widely acclaimed self-titled comeback album in 2024.
‘Faded By Time’, the forthcoming album’s first single is one of a raft of tracks produced by late Robert Fisher, mainstay of Boston alt.country pioneers Willard Grant Conspiracy
Satellite Inn had toured Italy as Fisher’s backing band at the start of the 21st Century, with the artist subsequently agreeing to produce tracks for a new Satellite Inn album. Four songs were recorded for MoodFood’s approval, but the label went bust before any movement on the album could be made. And with Fisher sadly passing away in 2017, the tapes continued to lay idle.
Following the release of Satellite Inn last year, the lost songs were rediscovered by the band, who felt the material was so inspiring that they decided to pay tribute to their old master, one of the greatest influences behind their music, and write a crop of new songs fit to finish the job started by Robert. Those early songs sounded so fresh and new that they became the backbone of the new record and now, the inaptly-titled ‘Faded By Time’ is at last ready to see the light of day.
